The FMCSA is charged with preventing commercial motor carrier vehicle related fatalities and injuries by strongly enforcing safety regulations. Compliance, Safety and Accountability (CSA) is the FMCSA initiative to improve the effectiveness of the Agency's compliance and enforcement programs. CSA enables earlier intervention and an increase in integration with FMCSA. Through CSA, the FMCSA identifies and targets motor carriers for intervention using data collected from roadside inspections, moving violations and crashes.
